Oval: Strive for: Generate rural employment Efficient health delivery system No broken timber bridges Dependable and community managed drinking water rural supply Stimulate and make the district ready for tourism Protect Majuli & it’s heritage Improving civic amenities in Jorhat town By: Transparent, efficient and time-bound mission by making people as partners of change process.   Oval: Synergy   Encouraging Community , Women’s Groups, NGOs, SHGs and other user groups by reorientation of attitudes and approach of government machinery in the district    

 

 

 

 

Oval: Sustainability EMPOWERING the COMMUNITY: Ø      Involving in formulation of vision Plan Ø      Allowing them to participate in resources/to contribute Ø      Giving the responsibility in execution and monitoring Ø      Entrusting the ownership to the extent possible.    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Based on above and on the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, of the District, in the light of felt-needs of the people and available resources of the district and the experience of implementation of the vision plan for the last 18 months, a mid-term correction for the previously planned Vision document is greatly needed.

The same is being attempted here in this document and comes to effect from 15th August 2003 and the same has been formally released on the occasion of Independence Day Celebrations, 2003 at Jorhat District by the Hon’ble Minister, Urban Development Department, Shri Hem Prakash Narayan.
